Miss Women Empowerment ‘Gold Night’ Scheduled for October

The Miss Women empowerment Director Letsweletse Motshidiemang has promised
an extraordinary experience at this year’s Miss Women Empowerment Grand
Finale which is tentatively scheduled for October at Avani hotel in
Gaborone.

Motshidiemang who is the founder of the miss women empowerment pageantry
and a self-driven enthusiast started the beauty pageant in an endeavor to
empower women.

“Miss Women Empowerment is a pageant that I founded in order to allow
women to empower other women through it, it’s like a tool or platform that
enables women to motivate and lift the spirits of one another,’’said
Letsweletse.

The pageant director who also dreams of being a teacher is currently
studying African languages and literature at the University of Botswana.
Letsweletse founded the pageantry as a fulfillment of his dreams.

“All i want to do after UB is to be a teacher and grow Miss Women
empowerment,’’ he added.

According to Letsweletse this year’s beauty contest is directed at women in
prisons.

“We are currently focusing on empowering women in prison with the help of
Alpha Outreach directed by Mrs Bakezela Maunze,’’said Letsweletse.

In an interview with the Tswana- times Motshidiemang revealed that all the
top 29 contestants who will be going through to the grand finale will be
accorded a chance to visit women in prison early September.

The director further expressed that they are targeting only 400 people and
people have responded positively so far. The 2017 grand finale will be held
at Avani Hotel on the 28th of October and VIP tickets go at P400 while
Standard tickets are P200.

“I had to learn from the mistakes I made last year and decided to take the
pageant very serious and go all out and make it a bit classy and even
professional,’’he said.

The soft-spoken director further alluded to the disappointments over last
year’s finale and attests that to better the pageant he had to part ways
with previous personnel.

“I even had to get rid of some of the people I worked with last year
because they really didn’t help me grow,’’he said.

Keeping up with the classy modeling industry standards, the miss women
empowerment director promises Batswana an out of this world experience at
the gold night.

“Trust me this year’s  pageant will be a very interesting one and the
ladies are amazing, the outfits for the three parades will be out of this
world,’’ said Letsweletse.

Letsweletse who draws his inspiration from the musician Charma Gal says he
is grateful to the pageant sponsors who helped make his dream a reality.

The event sponsors include Afro Basket, Yoli Car Imports Botswana, Absolute
Trends, Women2Women magazine, Funky Resy clothing, Lt peculiar Couture,
Ciao travel and tours and Lilies Hair Salon.

Due to a constraint budget there is no prize money for Miss Women
Empowerment but prizes for the queen include a brand new VW polo and the
contestant with the highest number of likes will be taken to Durban for a
week by Ciao travel and tours.

“We are not sure about the prize money because we do not have sponsors so
we are currently depending on the money we made last year and the money we
made from auditions,’’ Letsweletse.
