African Cyber Risk Institute hosts 2nd Annual Cyber Risk Conference

The African Cyber Risk Institute will host the 2nd Annual Cyber Conference on the 8th October 2015 at Cresta Hotel for top global hacking and cyber crime experts, in an effort to educate captains of industry in Botswana and high level senior Government officials about the importance of protecting highly confidential government information as well as company intellectual property, photographs and private information.

Beza Belayneh, Managing Director of African Cyber Security Risk Institute, said "We have assembled the finest experts to discuss challenges of cyber crime. This is a very hot issue in South Africa over the last ten years. On Monday for example, the Parliament website was hacked. It is embarrassing."

He said, "We wish we could open a church to address the issue of cyber crime. That is how serious it is. Time has come for Batswana to realize that we cannot hide our heads in the sand. The cyber security threat is real."

Data is very precious and cyber criminals, organized crime syndicates, hostile governments and competing companies always try to access it. The conference aims to conscientious business leaders and senior government officials about the value add of accessing top level assistance to protect valuable information.

The theme of the conference is 'Cyber Risk, Cyber Crime, Cyber Security – towards protecting, detecting, responding to Africa's Fastest Growing Threats to Business, Citizens and National Security.'

Chris Johnson, Director of Products and Commercial for Cyber Risk Institute, said "We provide a broad range of tailor made solutions to protect individual data. We have top level partners like Trend Micro(restrict damage to fireballs and database systems) and Mime Cast protecting personal e-mails."

The conference speakers include Marshall Pott - UK Chairman and CEO Jasper Global Cyber Security Centre, Dino Covotos Founder and MD Telespace Systems, Dr Christian Roos Vice President of Information Security at Barclays Bank Africa, Dimitri Fousekis, COO Telespace Systems and Laurie Pieters-James, Expert Criminal Profiler during the Oscar Pistorius case.
