BURS threatens lock out of ‘go slow workers’

1-SAM 4122BURS is threatening go slow employeesThe Botswana Public Employees Union(BOPEU) will take the Botswana Unified Revenue Service(BURS) to the Industrial Court Monday, to challenge a unilateral decision of BURS to compel BOPEU members to sign letters of commitment or face exclusion a forcible lock out from work for a period of 3 months

It contends the decision is unlawful, irregular and unfair because a go slow, which is action short of a strike, is permissable in terms of the Trade Disputes Act.
