Fairground Holdings today hosted an official media briefing to announce the much-anticipated Botswana Consumer Fair 2025,  be held under the theme: “Embracing Technology and Innovation for Economic Transition, ”from 25th to 31st August 2025.  

Speaking at the official press brief, Fairground Holdings CEO,Gorata Gabaraane, said: “For nearly four decades, Fairground Holdings has been at the heart of Botswana’s economic and social fabric in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions. We continue to build platforms that drive economic growth, foster innovation, and connect communities to opportunity.”

She said, “It has become an essential incubator for startups and SMEs, while attracting both local and international investors and exhibitors. The Fair has launched numerous successful brands and continues to foster entrepreneurship and innovation across Botswana. Its reputation extends beyond our borders, drawing regional and international participation.”

The fair is a week-long showcase where business meets creativity, and where Botswana engages with the world. This flagship event has evolved into a premier destination for trade, networking, and cultural exchange, attracting thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors from across the region and beyond.

“The 2025 edition will host over 500 exhibitors across 28 categories and is projected to welcome more than 36,000 visitors. The Fair will feature a wide range of attractions, including the Traders Hub, showcasing over 50 youth enterprises and start-ups; the Tourism Pavilion, highlighting Botswana’s destinations and hospitality sector; the Technology & Innovation Zone, presenting cutting-edge solutions and digital services; and the Gambling Authority Showcase, promoting responsible gaming practices. The annual awards will be elevated to a Gala Dinner, offering an elegant platform for celebration and networking,” said Gabaraane

Gabaraane revealed that one of the key highlights of the Botswana Consumer Fair 2025 will be the participation of Buca Matenge, Founder of the Job Creators Forum, whose work continues to inspire and empower entrepreneurs across the country.

The Fair serves as more than just an exhibition; it is a nationally recognised platform where innovation meets opportunity. Through initiatives such as the Job Creators Forum, the event will create spaces for entrepreneurs, businesses, and communities to connect, collaborate, and grow — acting as a catalyst for economic empowerment and job creation, while building both livelihoods and legacies.

Fairground Holdings has announced an expanded Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and will provide six tuckshops to NGOs, including Botswana Red Cross, Ramotswa Society for the Deaf, Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre, and Babusi Ward to support he work they promote.

These tuckshops will give NGOs a sustainable platform to generate income and strengthen their community-based programmes.

“Sustainable business growth must go hand-in-hand with positive social impact,” Ms Gabaraane added.

She said, “Through our CSR initiatives, we are enabling communities to thrive alongside our commercial success.”

Entertainment remains a core attraction at the Botswana Consumer Fair. This year’s programme promises a vibrant mix of family-friendly experiences, including inflatable slides and pools, quad bike rides, video game zones, and amusement park attractions, all provided with stringent safety measures in place to ensure a secure and enjoyable environment for all.

Fairground Holdings Fairs, Exhibitions and Events Manager, Ontlametse Ramokgalo, addressed the media on ticket sales and visitor safety.

“Tickets are now available online through Webtickets and in-store at all Spar and Choppies outlets nationwide. We strongly encourage early purchase to avoid queues and ensure a smooth entry process,” she said.

“Safety remains our highest priority. We will have enhanced security checks, on-site medical teams, clear signage, and dedicated family zones to provide an enjoyable and secure experience for every visitor.”

The Botswana Consumer Fair continues to be a major economic driver, boosting business sales, expanding market access for SMEs, attracting international investment, and generating employment for over 200 temporary staff while engaging numerous local service providers.
